The Skin-E: Simple Face Routine

I NEVER lie about my age; in fact I'm proud to tell people I'm 42. I love the fact that people are surprised when I reveal my actual age, people are genuinely surprised. In fact, when I have my baseball cap on, I frequently get carded for liquor purchases (lol). I credit my appearance to a few things: One being a nice set of genetic material (gotta thank the parental and grand-parental figures); Two would be lot's of water (there's water in coffee, tea and soda right?); and third is a simple face routine.

If you read my last blog post...you know, the one about my awful relationship with African Black Soap...you'll remember that history has shown me that my face HATES soap! Black soap, white soap, orange soap, blue soap, gentle soap, shea butter soap....ALL Soap. I used to swear by cold-creams. In fact, I used them from the time my mom introduced me to them (at about 10) until I turned 40. At 40, something changed about my skin. That smooth youthful appearance was definitely fading. Although other's did not notice (or they were too polite to say anything), I could most definitely see the beginnings of the dreaded AGING. I also began noticing my face getting noticeably dry in spots, especially in the T-Zone so I knew it was time for me to make a change.

Thus my experimenting began.

After much trial and error with almost every face cleanser known to modern man. I finally have a routine that works. Let's hope this will last me at least another 30 years.

My Miracle 3-Step Routine

For me simplicity is the key. If it takes too many steps, I've probably zoned-out and stopped doing it within a week. At my age , it doesn't get any more simple than this; Every morning and night I:

1. Cleanse my face with bareMinerals Oil Obsessed Total Cleansing Oil. This stuff is great. It's very light and incredibly moisturizing. Even though it is oil based, it's important to note that this IS NOT a makeup remover. You'll have to use a make-up remover before cleansing to remove things like stubborn eye makeup.

2. Next I use Witch Hazel as a toner. It leaves my face feeling cool and well cleansed.

3. After the Witch Hazel drys (about 30 seconds), I apply my Face Serum. The wonderful thing about my serum is it gives an added level of moisture to the skin and is fast absorbing. I designed it to naturally reduce my fine lines and wrinkles without having my face look super oily.

You don't have to wait until your my age to use my serum. It can be a great addition to your skin care routine at any age.

Hope this is helpful for people that are looking to simplify there face routine, or looking for something new to rejuvenate your skin.
